Vodafone reaches an agreement with the unions and lowers the ERE to 1,000 employees
Those affected will be compensated with 50 days per year worked and an additional 6,000 euros for the lowest salaries
Finally, an agreement has been reached. After several mobilizations by employees, the operator Vodafone has established with the unions that the number of people affected by the ERE will be 1,000 people, 200 less than their initial proposal , which was one in four workers of the company. On Thursday, UGT had already announced that the company's new proposal would be signed because of the majority of the staff's support for the conditions and the "uncertainty" that their rejection implied.
The operator has proposed that workers who during the year 2020 reach 55 years or have 10 years of age can voluntarily join the ERE, which means a total of 102 employees. Early retirement can be accepted with 85% of the net fixed salary , plus the net 50% of the variable salary target. They will have until March 4 to join voluntarily.
For the rest, the gross indemnities will be 50 days of salary per year worked. And for workers with a fixed salary of less than 28,000 euros gross with 5 years old, an indemnity supplement of 6,000 euros is offered.
Vodafone, which already cut its workforce in 2015 by another 1,000 workers after joining ONO and in 2013 by some 900, now undertakes not to undertake another collective dismissal until March 31, 2021 . The results are not favorable for the operator, which reduced its revenues in Spain by 7.3% in the last quarter of the year to 1,165 million euros.
